--OF Vladimir Guerrero hit his 24th home run of the season and went 2-for-4 to finish the night batting .298. Guerrero is trying to match Lou Gehrig's streak of 11 consecutive seasons with at least 25 home runs and a .300 average.
--SS Brandon Wood went 3-for-4 with two home runs and three RBI in Monday's victory. It was the first multi-HR game in the big leagues for Wood and gives him three home runs in the past three games. Wood is 11-for-40 (.275) since being promoted from Class AAA in late August.
--RHP Kevin Jepsen made his major league debut, pitching a scoreless eighth inning against the Yankees. Jepsen started the season in Class AA, was promoted to Class AAA and won a bronze medal in the Olympics with Team USA last month.

RHP Jered Weaver (lacerated right middle and ring fingers) accidentally cut himself on the bench Sept. 2. He missed his scheduled Sept. 5 start, and the team was uncertain when he would be able to pitch.
