--RHP John Lackey's five-hitter Thursday was the eighth shutout of his career. Half of those have come against the Mariners, including each of his past three. Lackey has allowed just one earned run in 26 innings over his past three starts. Lackey is the first Angels pitcher since Kelvim Escobar in 2006 to go at least eight innings in three consecutive starts. --Mike Napoli's next home run while playing catcher will be the 61st of his career, matching Bengie Molina and Lance Parrish for the club record. But Napoli has just two hits in his past 30 at-bats and hasn't homered since August 21 in Toronto. --C Bobby Wilson was sent home from the ballpark before Thursday's game due to flu-like symptoms. Wilson was a September call-up.
MEDICAL WATCH:
RHP Kelvim Escobar (right shoulder soreness) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to June 6, and he was transferred to the 60-day DL on July 24. He is out indefinitely.
RHP Dustin Moseley (nerve irritation in right elbow) went on the 15-day disabled list April 18, and he was transferred to the 60-day disabled list June 6. He had a setback in mid-May during his rehab at extended spring training. He was cleared to start light throwing in late May but was shut down again because of pain traveling from his neck to his elbow. He is out indefinitely.
RHP Scot Shields (left knee tendinitis) went on the 15-day disabled list May 26. He had season-ending surgery June 16 and was moved to the 60-day DL.
