
--RHP John Lackey fell to 10-11 with a 5.95 ERA in 29 career appearances against the Rangers. That is the most losses and highest ERA for Lackey against any opponent he has faced at least twice.
--OF Juan Rivera was 3-for-5 and had his second two-homer game of the season and eighth of his career. Twelve of Rivera's 16 home runs this season have been with no one on base, but his 33 RBI since June 1 is the most in the American League. --1B Kendry Morales singled in his first at-bat to extend his hitting streak to 12 games. That matches his career high, set in 2007. Morales is batting .356 (16-for-45) during the streak.
--SS Erick Aybar was just 2-for-10 on this homestand before going 2-for-3 with a run scored, an RBI and a stolen base in Tuesday's loss. Aybar does have hits in nine of his last 11 games and has scored eight times in that stretch.
MEDICAL WATCH:
RF Vladimir Guerrero (strained muscle behind left knee) was injured July 7 and is out indefinitely.
RHP Ervin Santana (right triceps inflammation) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to June 12. He began a rehab assignment in the rookie-level Arizona League on June 28, and he was activated July 3.
RHP Kelvim Escobar (right shoulder soreness) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to June 6. He then had a setback in his rehab and is out indefinitely.
RHP Shane Loux (right shoulder inflammation) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to May 17. He began a minor league rehab assignment June 19.
RHP Scot Shields (left knee tendinitis) went on the 15-day disabled list May 26. He had season-ending surgery June 16 and was moved to the 60-day DL.
RHP Dustin Moseley (nerve irritation in right elbow) went on the 15-day disabled list April 18, and he was transferred to the 60-day disabled list June 6. He had a setback in mid-May during his rehab at extended spring training. He was cleared to start light throwing in late May but was shut down again because of pain traveling from his neck to his elbow.
