ROTATION ANALYSIS: It could be the deepest rotation in baseball -- by May, that is, if Lackey, Santana and Escobar return to health. In the meantime, the Angels must hope Saunders reprises his All-Star form from a year ago as they make do with journeymen Dustin Moseley and Shane Loux and prospect Nick Adenhart filling out their rotation.
LHP Brian Fuentes (closer)
RHP Scot Shields
RHP Jose Arredondo
LHP Darren Oliver

RHP Kevin Jepsen
BULLPEN ANALYSIS: Angels manager Mike Scioscia has said this could be the deepest and most versatile bullpen he has had in 10 seasons with the Angels -- despite losing record-setting closer Francisco Rodriguez to free agency. The Angels made little or no effort to re-sign Rodriguez, preferring to save money by signing Fuentes to replace him. That move also allowed them to keep setup men Shields and Arredondo in place (rather than pushing one into the closer's role). Oliver has been a solid swingman, used in a more expanded role than situational left-hander, and Jepsen gives the Angels another one of the "power arms" Scioscia likes to have in his bullpen arsenal.
