The Red Sox hit a combined .271 as a team during their 2004, 2007 and 2008 ALDS victories over the Angels. --Game 1 of the AL Division Series was the first shutout in the Angels' playoff history (53 games) and John Lackey's first postseason victory since Game 7 of the 2002 World Series.
--OF Bobby Abreu walked in each of his four plate appearances in Game 1. That ties the AL Division Series record for walks in a game set by DH David Ortiz against the Angels in 2007.
--By guiding the Angels to the playoffs this season, Mike Scioscia became the first manager in baseball history to take his team to the postseason in six of his first 10 seasons. Scioscia got his 900th career victory Sunday in the regular-season finale.
