
--3B Chone Figgins sat in front of his locker with his cell phone out before the game. "I'm voting for myself and I don't care who knows it," Figgins said. "I want to be in that All-Star Game." Figgins is one of five candidates in the "Final Vote" to determine the last player on the roster. Through the first two days of voting, Figgins was third in the AL, and Rangers 2B Ian Kinsler was leading.
--The Angels announced Monday that Hall of Famer Rod Carew has rejoined the organization as an executive representative. Carew spent eight seasons as the team's hitting coach (1992-99) but will not join the team on the personnel side. He will assist in community relations, media relations and marketing.
