Words are Yummy

blaylockLAA_walk-off.jpeg

Last night, I sat stunned on the couch, questioning what was transpiring before my eyes.  No, not Hank Blalock’s game winning, walk-off two run homer, the game hadn’t progressed to the bottom of the ninth yet.  The aforementioned stunnedness can be attributed to the boys from Arlington blowing what was a very impressive 7-1 lead when the Halos Juan Rivera blasted a 3-run, game-tying homer off Texas closer Frank Francisco in the top of the ninth.  I was thinking to myself “This is classic Rangerdom in action: get our hopes up then snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.”  I was a hair-speck from hurling my Sam Adams Boston Lager bottle through the TV set.

That being said, no one was happier to eat one’s own cynical words (and not have to purchase a new Toshiba) than I when The Hammer walked-off in the bottom of the ninth, finishing off a series winning victory for the Rangers over the Calif…er…Anah…er…LA Angels of Anaheim California, USA.

Words…the other white meat.  :^)

“DO YOU BELIEVE IN MIRACLES!?!” LOL. That was a great Ranger moment (the walk-off, not losing the big lead). Right up there with Nolan’s 7th no-hitter and… well, that’s the only Ranger “moment” I know. They should create some more over there, for your sake at least. I dig the Boston Lager too. You have fine taste.

lol…until the Rangers can at least make an ALCS appearance, all Ranger “moments” mean nothing. I get ticked everytime I’m reminded that they are “the most unsuccessful team in MLB”, i.e. the only team to never appear in a league championship game….GRRRR.
BTW, Jeff, checked out your MySpace page…great stuff. I did some open mics myself back in the early 2000’s but everytime I tried to get my “comedy career” going, I’d get laid off from my day job, an suddenly nothing was funny anymore.
Glad to see you like Mitch Hedberg…he was freaking hella funny, wish he was still around.

Me too. I miss that guy. No one could touch his brand of comedy. Thanks for checking them out. We put together some pretty funny baseball vids for RSBS too (more to come). You can see them on our sidebar links under *RSBS TV*. Go Rangers (you’re making me pull for them out west… why not!?!)
